Androgenic Alopecia & Alopecia Areta
PRP therapy is a new, natural, non-surgical option for patients experiencing hair loss.
We have seen patients improve and clinical studies provide evidence that PRP stimulates hair growth. The stem cells and growth factors in PRP encourages the growth of hair follicles.
This is then followed by an injection of the blood cells into your scalp area. No medications are required pre or post procedure. PRP contains many growth factors that stimulate hair follicles and can be performed up to every month based on how much hair growth is required.
PRP is a great solution for both men and women, especially when hair transplant surgery is not an option. PRP injections can stimulate new hair growth in men who suffer from androgenetic alopecia (known as male pattern baldness) and women who suffer from female pattern baldness. The procedure requires injections into the scalp area where the hair is currently thinning. A local anesthetic is applied before the procedure, to minimise discomfort. The procedure will take approximately 60 minutes.
The male hair procedure is sometimes referred to as “PRP Vampire Hair Raising.”
Most medications used to restore hair, such as Propecia, have side effects in men (such as erectile dysfunction). If they can be tolerated they can be used in conjunction with PRP. PRP can also be combined with Minoxidil lotion for an even better effect. PRP treatments can be used in tandem with hair transplantation to reduce the death of transplanted hair follicles. PRP treatment is usually performed every 4 to 6 weeks for three sessions.
